Introducing your new TVCS Chairman

I am delighted and honoured to be taking over as chairperson of the Thames Valley Cytology Society and would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Mary Falzon for her enthusiastic and committed leadership over the last three years.

The Society remains healthy in both a financial and an intellectual sense as is demonstrated by its ability to attract high quality speakers to its meetings, which remain well attended, and its excellent Newsletter.

We aim soon to develop and improve communication between the members of the society by using electronic media, and are very fortunate that Dr Colin Clelland, who has considerable expertise in this area, has joined the committee. You may remember his excellent talk at the AGM regarding cytology on the web.

There are great pressures on cytology and its staff at the moment, as you are all aware, but there are also exciting developments on the horizon.

I hope you find the Society useful in these difficult times and that we can continue to support each other. Let us know what you think.
